History Buff Talk: Trains & Railroads

  • 11/20/2026
  • 10:00 AM
  • Tillotson Gallery

Paul Raffenello of the Cohos Historical Society and the 1799 Meeting House in Groveton will share a presentation of photos and his knowledge of the history of train use in the North Country, as the railroads were established to haul logs for the timber industry.

Come learn about local North Country history and share collective knowledge with neighbors!  All ages are welcome for these free, low-key socials at the Tillotson Center.  Whether you are well versed in the history of our region or would like to learn more, anyone interested is encouraged to attend. The Community Builders Hub will provide light refreshments to enjoy with discussions.  Local historical groups involved include: Canaan Historical Society, Cohos Historical Society, 1799 Meeting House, Colebrook Area Historical Society, Errol Heritage Commission, Lemington Historical Society, Pittsburg Historical Society and the Historic Columbia Town Hall, who have all been gathering and communicating this past year to share ideas and collaborate.
