The Theater
Perhaps one of the most remarkable - - and unexpected - - features of the Tilly is the Kaufmann Theater which seats 171. Situated on the Center's second floor, the theater offers both orchestra and balcony seating and is perfect for live stage productions, movies, concerts, guest speakers, school plays, and community meetings.
And because it has a large screen and excellent sound system, it is also perfect for motion pictures and documentaries. For example , thanks to a generous grant from the Madelaine G. von Weber Trust, the Tilly is offering a series of family friendly movies throughout 2018. The goal is to provide an opportunity for families to get out and share an experience that is both fun and affordable.
Among the stalwarts of the Tilly's Kaufmann Theater are the Carriage Lane Players, a local acting troupe who pack the house with their comedies, dramas, and murder mysteries, and young theater enthusiasts from school and Town theatrical and recreation programs. These groups learn and develop their talents while making the theater rock!
